Waiting for Pre-Op
The people at CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia) are just wonderful. They really know how to make a kid feel calm (both babies AND his kiki got to go with him to surgery. Stayed with him the whole time!). He had started to cry when they called us back for Pre-Op, but it didn’t last long. “Giggle Juice” is some potent stuff!
Recovery has been relatively easy (Thursday was BAD, but we hurdled that obstacle) and he’s had some wonderful friends come to see him and spend time with him. Even got a bunch of Get Well cards from his class! (boy did he perk up when he got those!).
All in all, he was a complete trooper and took it all in stride.
Even Mommy survived. Didn’t even cry (ALMOST did when they finally wheeled him away for surgery).
I hope we never have to do surgery again!
